Workshop on Polymer Degradation Behavior Modeling and Service Life Prediction

Polymer has been widely applied invarious areas, however, because of polymer molecular structure’s inherent characteristic,degradation of polymer materials is a common phenomenon which leads to changes in chemical, physical and mechanical properties, and even failure. Material failure will definitely affect product performance and cause safety problems. “how long can the materials last?” This is what manufactures focus when they select materials and design products and what consumers focus when they choose products, which is also a tough technical problem, therefore, predicting polymer materials service life under service environment has become  an urgent technical requirement in different areas such as economy, design, safety, insurance and environment, etc.

The State Key Laboratory of Environmental Adaptability for Industrial Products (EAS) which focuses on polymer materials and products service life solution andthe State Key Laboratory of Polymer Materials Engineering whichmainly focuses on polymer materials research and development, will jointly hold this workshop with the theme of Polymer degradation behavior modeling and service life prediction. The one-day program will feature international and Chinese experts from certain research agencies, academic associations and companies in the specialized field of polymer materials.
